DAILY RAAHU KAAL

The Rahu Kaal, Gulik Kaal and Yamghanta refer to a place’s local times which are considered bad for a native living there to embark on any auspicious work like religious functions, marriage, opening ceremonies and investment ceremonies. As per Hindu astrology, Rahu Kaal covers a span of about 90 minutes every day in between sunrise and sunset.

In the Hindu tradition, Rahu is deemed as a malefic planet and bears another name “Bhayanaka”. While   one day of the week is dedicated to seven other planets, about 90 minutes every day is dedicated to Rahu, which is called as Rahu Kaal. It is believed that auspicious tasks done during this time never yield good results which is why people who are well-attuned to the detrimental effects  of Rahu Kaal avoid commencing new or important ventures during this time. Astrologers have ardent faith that all auspicious tasks including journeys, marriage proposals, interviews, trades, sales or purchase of assets and business deals should be called off during his period. However, Rahu Kaal applies only to starting new ventures, the routine tasks already started during an auspicious time can always go on  during Rahu Kaal. For instance, if you have commenced your journey before Rahu Kaal, it can continue during Rahu Kaal and be finished after Rahu Kaal without any apprehension in mind. Only when you have to sign up any new document or start a new enterprise, Rahu Kaal should be considered.

Calculating on the deleterious effects that Rahu Kaal, Yamghanta and Gulik Kaal have on the accomplishment of any tasks started during that period, it is imperative to know their timings every day so that we could avoid starting any new venture during these inauspicious time periods. Their timings vary everyday. Owing to the revolutionary velocities of the planets, there is barely a difference of a few seconds or minutes in these timings but in general the Indian Astrology embraces below-mentioned timings for Rahu Kaal, Gulik Kaal and Yamagandam.
